Smelling really good is very important to me. I am so conscious all the time of how I smell and I’m also extremely fussy about what kind of fragrance I wear. I am obsessed with floral fragrances so this new launch from Ghost really got me excited. Dream, despite sharing a name with a Kardashian, is a classy, floral and beautiful scent which I really love.
Something I really like about the Ghost fragrances I’ve had in the past is the beautiful packaging. The bottles are always so uniquely designed, with beautiful complimentary colours. Dream is no exception to this, with stunning blue and purple pastel hues in the glass of the bottle and then a shiny, rose gold lid. The box it came in was also similarly designed, with rose gold embossed writing and clouds of pastel. This packaging really appealed to me as rose gold and pastel is my aesthetic. I like the way that the bottle personifies the fragrance in a way; it’s light and, well, dreamy looking. I’m a sucker for pretty perfume bottles and keep them even if the perfume is empty just because of how pretty they look on my vanity. This will definitely be a bottle that I keep; it’s so pretty.
As I mentioned before, I really love floral scents so I was so glad that this Ghost fragrance is a floral one. I find fruiter and muskier perfumes too suffocating, but floral ones really appeal to me. The description given on Ghost’s website of Dream is “the perfume opens with Rose Essential and fragrant Moroccan orange flower. A floral heart of heady Egyptian jasmine and pretty violet develops to reveal a sensual base of woody notes, ambroxan musks and patchouli.” So, as you can see, very floral scents. I adore the smell of rose, and one of my all-time favourite face-masks is the Rosy Cheeks one from Lush due to it’s fantastically strong rose scent, so this perfume opening with notes of rose is right up my street. I also love the smell of jasmine, and this note just gets stronger and stronger with wear, so I can constantly smell jasmine on me all day – truly divine.
Another thing I really love about Ghost perfumes is how affordable they are – well, in terms of perfume prices anyway. A 100ml bottle of this will set you back around £45, which is extremely reasonable. Other perfumes I have, like Love Story by Chloé and Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs (also very floral fragrances) are easily double that for 100ml and while I do marginally prefer the scents of those perfumes to this one, Ghost Dream is still a fantastic alternative to those if you’re on a bit of a budget like I am. In the run-up to Christmas, Boots always have deals on Ghost perfumes so keep your eye out if you want a new signature scent but don’t want to pay the big bucks for it. All in all, for the price you’re paying, this scent is truly delightful. You can pick up up from Boots, Superdrug or The Perfume Shop, which I highly recommend doing if you’re like me and are into your florals, and you’re also on a budget.
