Last week, I was very lucky to receive some goodies in the post from Charlotte Tilbury, who have one of been one of my favourite beauty brands for the longest time. They have a selection of Christmas gift sets for this time of year and today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Icons Gift Set and the Scent Of A Dream Perfume …
The miniature lipstick in ‘Penelope Pink’ is a light, brown nude shade and would be beautiful on anyone, in my opinion. However, I have never seen a lipstick this diddly and tiny in my life. When I first opened the gift set I had no idea it was even a lipstick as it is so mini. It’s very cute but I would prefer it to be a bit bigger as it’s not overly practical to apply and I am constantly worried about snapping it. However, the shade is gorgeous and the packaging – beautiful, classy and gold – makes up for it. Plus, it is quite novelty to have a lipstick this dinky in my collection. It’s 100% convinced me to get the full size when this little miniature runs out!
The two skin-related products you receive in this set are some all-time cult Charlotte Tilbury products. Charlotte’s Magic Cream is something that I have wanted to try for the longest time and I’m so glad I now have this deluxe sample so that I can try it out before committing to buying an entire pot of it. The Wonder Glow is a product that I’ve had a sample of before and fell completely in love with it. It’s such a beautiful, radiant primer that really gives your skin the lift that it quite often needs during these dull, winter days. It makes you look lit from within and looks beautiful under almost any foundation. It’s perfect to add a little festive cheer to your make up.
I think these two products are perfect ones to go in the set as they are some of Charlotte Tilbury’s best-sellers and it’s nice that the gift set provides you with a mixture of make up and skin items. It provides a great variety that some brands often don’t have in their gift sets; they are exclusively make up or exclusively skin care. This is why it makes it a really lovely gift because you can give it to someone really into beauty, like myself, or someone not so much into make up and someone who prefers a more subtle look. The packaging of both of these samples is so luxe that whoever you’re gifting this too this Christmas will feel like a queen as they apply this to their face.
The most exciting thing in this box is the only full-sized item which is the highly coveted Pillow Talk Lip Cheat. I’ve wanted this lip liner for 3 years and if you’d told 17 year old Chloe, who lusted after it every time she went into John Lewis, that 3 years down the line she’d have been sent one by Charlotte Tilbury’s PR department than she 100% would have laughed in your face. However, that’s what happened and now I have the beautiful Pillow Talk lip cheat in my life. It’s smooth, creamy and like no other lip liner formula I’ve ever tried before. Universally flattering and product that Charlotte Tilbury is well-known for, Pillow Talk was the perfect choice for the Beauty Icons set.
The ‘Scent of a Dream’ perfume is the most perfect gift for your favourite lady this Christmas. Not only is it the most deliciously musky scent but it’s also in the most glamorous packaging which reminds me of 1920’s perfume bottles. It’s so luxe, unique and would make the perfect present for someone who likes their fragrances or just someone who loves Charlotte Tilbury and wants to add this gem to their collection. As perfumes go, it’s not overly expensive at £68 for a 50ml bottle and if you buy ‘Scent of a Dream’ for someone this Christmas then you also get a set of 3 mini lipsticks as a little free gift to go with it so you can treat yourself as well as someone else!
If I’ve convinced you that you should give the gift of Charlotte Tilbury for Christmas this year (either to a loved one or as a Christmas present to yourself!) then you can pick up the Beauty Icons set here and the ‘Scent of a Dream’ here!
