Make Up Collection & Storage 2017

Hello MTV, and welcome to my crib make up collection!

2014 Chloe, who barely had enough make up to do a full face would completely wet herself if she saw the vast amount of make up that I have now. It’s by no means a huge collection but I’m really proud of it.  I recently got new storage for it which you can find here if you also want to buy it and it’s by no means perfectly tidy, but I’m really happy with it. The linked trolley with 10 drawers sits next to my chest of drawers, which is where my everyday make up and majority of my liquid lipsticks are kept in and around sits an acrylic storage unit. I also keep my most used palettes on top of my chest of drawers which you can see in the above image. These palettes include the Naked Heat, Naked & Naked Smoky, as well as the Nars Unfiltered 2 and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting 3. Also sat outside of drawers is my MAC Pro Palette, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance. I hold these in letter organisers, which you can pick up on Amazon.

Inside the acrylic storage unit is just my everyday make up. I have my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer & my beauty blender, plus the Honey Bronzer from the Body Shop, a Beauty Blender, a bottle of MAC Fix+ and a sample size of the Elizabeth Arden Mascara, as well as a full-sized Maybelline Lash Sensational. I also have a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in here and a Kylie Cosmetics Highlighter in Cotton Candy. All my lip liners live in this storage unit as do most of my MAC lipsticks. Next to it, I have all my ColourPop liquid lipsticks and my Kylie Lip Kits in a lipstick holder from TK Maxx. I usually keep my One Heck of a Blot powder in here by Soap & Glory, but it was in my handbag when these photos were taken, as was the other Sephora liquid lipstick I have!
The first drawer in my trolley holds all my face products. This has all my foundations in it. My favourites are the Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, The Ordinary & the Fenty Beauty. The Charlotte Tilbury in the drawer is actually a back up as the one on the acrylic storage is about to run out. The MAC and Bourjois foundations that you can see are my summer/holiday shades and they’re always the ones I take away with me because they’re just that little bit darker. I actually hate the Beauty Pie foundation in there so I have no idea why I have that one still. As for concealers, I love the Nars Radiant Creamy & the Soft Matte concealer. I also really love the LA Girl Pro Conceal, which was actually kindly gifted to me. I also have a random sample size of Dew The Hoola by Benefit in this section. I’m not sure why that is. I also keep my primers in this drawer. My Laura Geller Spackle primer is on top as it’s my most used.
The next drawer is my face powders etc. So like blushes, highlighters, and bronzers. Although, when I was taking pictures of this, I realised that I only own two bronzers and I only really use one and that’s the Body Shop Honey Bronzer which I have been using and rebuying since 2014 because I love it so much. The other is Benefit Hoola, which is nice but a little dark for my skin. My favourite highlighters in my collection are MAC Soft & Gentle, and ‘Owls’ by Louise Young. My favourite blushes are MAC Melba & Bobbi Brown Apricot which you actually can’t see as it’s hidden by a Tarte blush. Nars Orgasm also gets a very honourable mention in this section.
In this drawer, we have single eyeshadows and eyeliners. I also have cream eye shadow pots and pigments, and a MAC palette and Make Up Geek palette which have very few shadows in them, so they’re not on display yet. My single eye shadows consist of mostly ColourPop super shock ones as I love them so much, but I also have a few Kiko ones in there and also a Laura Mercier one which is hidden underneath my SuperShocks. In regards to eyeliners, the ones I have are mainly Stila. I actually am not the biggest fan of some of the Stila shades but I keep them anyway just in case I need a daring colour like the luminous green one you can see. My favourite cream eyes shadows are the MAC Paintpots in Painterly and Groundwork, which I use as eye shadow bases. I also have my Anastasia BH Dip Brow in that little section as well as Old Gold pigment from MAC.
I am really sorry for the yellowness of this photo. I forgot to take a picture of this drawer and then went I was editing the photos realised and had to go back and take one, but it was dark so didn’t have natural light. Please forgive me. In this drawer I keep all the high-end palettes that I don’t reach for as much. As you can see, this drawer is practically over-flowing. It actually is ridiculous but palettes are my vice. In here I have Naked 2 & 3, the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette, the Urban Decay Moondust palette and the Too Faced Totally Cute palette, just to name a few. I do love all of these palettes, I just don’t use them as often as I use the ones on the top of my cabinet. I need to stop buying high end palettes because if I don’t, I’m not going to have room for them!
In here, I keep all my drugstore palettes. Again, I do have quite a lot of these. They are mostly Make Up Revolution and NYX, but I do have a few Morphe, Barry M and Sleek palettes in there as well. There are more face palettes in here than eye palettes, but this does house one of my holy grail make up items and that is the Soph x MUR palette by Soph Does Nails. I love this eyeshadow palette and use it at least 2-3 times a week and it would 100% be on show on my dresser if I had the room for it up there. However, it lives in this drawer because it’s quite large and does take up a lot of space. This was one of my favourite make up purchases of 2017 and I’m so happy that managed to get it.
Next up we have random lipsticks that I don’t have room for on the top. Honestly, these are mostly daring shades that I don’t reach for everyday. There are a lot in there from Freedom and Make Up Revolution but also there’s a Kiko shade, a lipstick from Soap & Glory and a Tarte one, as well as a Butter Gloss from NYX and a Souffle Lip from Bourjois, a lipstick which I completely love the formula of and really should wear it more. This drawer isn’t really complete when it comes to organisation. It’s still a bit empty. I want to get another little container to put next to the other one and put in the liquid lipsticks that I don’t use as much.  Finally, I just have a drawer with odds and ends. Usually, this houses things I’ve been sent and need to try out for a blog post or back ups of stuff. Right now, it’s a little empty. It features these lashes from Kiss which I was kindly sent and also a back up pack of cotton pads for removing my make up.
So, here we are! That’s my make up collection and storage! I do have the other drawers filled of this unit but they’re quite untidy and mostly full of skincare so if you would like to see a skincare collection post, let me know.

*This post contains affiliate links and PR samples. Also, this was by no means a braggy post about how much make up I have (because it’s not really that much) but instead it was a post to show you how I store things, and keep my collection organised. Please don’t take this the wrong way.*

Amazon is my go to place when I want to get some new acrylic storage – we have the same one! Super in expensive as storage goes, and I love that they can be stacked on one another, or be separate. You have some lovely palettes x

Your storage is so cute & organised! I wish mine looked this tidy, it gets constantly thrown out the drawer by a certain pair of little hands…

ah you are so organised! I feel like apart from my lipsticks most of my stuff is just piled up in a corner! Might have to put some organisation trays on my Christmas wish list x

Organising skills on POINT! I love keeping my makeup separate, I used to have tiny acrylic drawers that I had sorted by order of application but then I got big wooden drawers and organise by product type and it’s soooo much easier for me! I also have a “rando lipstick drawer” ha!

I wish I was better at doing makeup, you have such a beautiful collection! I don’t really need storage as I only wear eyeliner and mascara or the occasional lippy, haha!x

Ohhh I bloody love posts like this!! I'm so nosey and love looking at other people's makeup collections! Your eyeshadow palette collection is freaking insane! I'm very jealous! I'd love to own so many but I'm so picky and can never justify adding more palettes!

I would never have thought of using letter organisers for palettes! Such a good idea.

Ahhh love these kinds of posts!!

I used to want lots and lots of makeup and a huge makeup collection (think Shaaanxo) but I get paranoid now about how clean my makeup is. Don't get me wrong I still have things that I bought years ago (LOL). But, I wear lenses and am so paranoid about eye infections etc.. I never buy multiple mascaras and eyeliners things like that.

I would love to know how you manage your makeup? Do you still use things after it's 'use by' date? Or just look for changes in colour/consistency, things like that?

Oh wow! You have so much makeup! I love how you store it though – looks so neat and tidy. You’ve made me want to go on a little shopping spree now x

Im so glad im not the only person who is proud of their makeup organisations! I too use the acrylic box from Amazon for everyday makeup and my favourite palettes sit on the top of my dressing table!! I love seeing how other people organise things, I think mine is fairly similar!

Omg this is so organised Chlo! I tend to keep my everyday makeup in one bag and then I have different boxes for each product too (lipsticks, eye products etc). I've always wanted some clear storage for my makeup though so that might be my next investment! xx

I loved your MTV reference, I bloody loved that show haha. I also loved looking into your Makeup Collection! Mine is stored very similarly with the boxes and whatnot as dividers 🙂 Great post!

I have too many Rach, Johnny calls it “my sickness” 😂😂

  18. December 3, 2017 / 9:41 am

It’s a tip I found online! I really love how my favourite palettes are out on the top so I can reach for them easily x

  19. December 3, 2017 / 9:42 am

I swap my make up about when I feel like I need to – change out certain things! I rarely check if things are out of date which is so naughty, I know! I did have a huge clear out/throwout a year ago and got rid of a lot of stuff I just didn’t use! X

  20. December 3, 2017 / 9:43 am

Thank you!! I’m glad someone noticed my reference! X
