I’ve been loving a lot of new make up this month, despite being on a no-spend. I shopped my stash, got sent some items and fell in love with some fantastic products and these are what I’m going to be sharing with you today…
I have been dying to try a Huda Beauty palette for the longest time but I honestly couldn’t justify £56 for one palette; it seemed completely extortionate to me. When, late last month, Huda released their Obsessions palettes at just £25 a pop, I knew that the Warm Brown one just had to be mine. And honestly, I’m obsessed. This palette has 9 shadows with 8 mattes and 1 shimmer, which is honestly my ideal for a palette as matte shades are my favourites. The colours are so me (if you’ve read my eye-shadow obsessions post, then you’ll know!) and the quality is second to none. The shimmer shade in the centre is the most gorgeous copper and it’s so pigmented and buttery it almost feels wet – it’s honestly orgasmic. Like, I’m seriously aroused by that shade. It’s f*cking insane. I’ve used this every single damn day in November that I’ve worn eye-shadow and I can’t fault it. I will definitely be buying a full-sized Huda palette in the future when I have the funds. I’m obsessed.
I received this lipstick from my great pal Marty for my birthday. I think she only got it because it was called ‘Birthday Suit’ and it was a birthday present but she couldn’t have picked a more ‘me’ colour if she’d tried. I’d never tried the Sleek Matte Me lipsticks before but I have no idea why – they’re not the most long-lasting formula but they are so light and easy to wear and I love having this as my everyday lipstick shade as it pairs so nicely with pretty much any eye look. It’s a really flattering nude-pink and I just completely love the way that it looks on me. It layers really well so you don’t have to worry about flakiness when reapplying and it just sits so comfortably on my lips – I’ve never tried a liquid lipstick formula like it. Compared to the Kylie Lip Kits which make your lips crusty and flaky after a few hours of wear, the Sleek Matte Me lipstick keeps my lips feeling less like an 80-year-old’s and more like mine. I love it. Thanks Marty!
I, like everyone else in the blogging community, got sent this Marc Jacobs mascara in a Influenster Vox Box this month. I was absolutely delighted when I received this parcel in the post because I’d never tried anything from Marc Jacobs beauty before but I was dying to and the Vox Box meant I could test it out with having to pay £22 for it – which for a mascara is pretty pricy. I really adore this mascara and will 100% be buying another when it runs out – the brush is a really nice size; the formula is very black and extremely long wearing; it gives my lashes lift, volume and length and the packaging is incredibly chic and sophisticated. I’ve never seen a hexagonal mascara before! I’ve been wearing this everyday for the entire month of November and sometimes I’ve been wearing it without any eyeliner or anything and it still looks great. 100% would recommend this mascara to anyone!
I recently sorted out my make up collection and realised that I’d only ever tried two bronzers. I had always used Hoola but about 3 years ago I discovered the Body Shop Honey Bronzer and I’ve used nothing else ever since. I always use it all up and then just re-buy it because I personally just love it and it works really well for me. However, as a beauty blogger, it’s my job (sorta) to investigate new make up so when I saw the Elf section in the Superdrug when we went to Bluewater last month, I could not resist! I only really like matte bronzers so I decided on this blush and bronzer duo in ‘Fiji’ from Elf. The blush shade is really pretty and flattering but the bronzer is where it’s at for me. I’ve been using it everyday with my Real Techniques Powder Brush just to add a bit of colour to my cheeks and I’m obsessed. I really recommend this as an affordable bronze/blush duo as it does the job and costs practically nothing!
Nude by Nature Translucent Loose Powder || £22
I received this powder from Feel Unique in their Best of Beauty box during September and I didn’t use it for so long. I just shoved it in a drawer and forgot about it. However, November was the month I got obsessed with this powder. It’s got gorgeous gold packaging and sits so lightly on my skin that it just blurs all my imperfections and makes my skin look flawless. It’s not overly mattifying so I do use my Rimmel Stay Matte still on my nose where I do get oily but it blurs my pores, doesn’t sit on the skin weirdly and doesn’t even require Fix+ to settle it down a bit, like most of the powders I use do. It’s such a nice powder but it is incredibly pricy for a face powder and it’s the most expensive one I’ve ever used so I probably won’t repurchase when I’m out of it but I love it for now and will continue to use it every single day.
Those were my favourite beauty products for November. I’ve definitely discovered some new loves this month. What make-up items have you been loving this month? Have you discovered any new favourites?
