Any excuse to treat myself and I’ll do it. I don’t need to be asked twice. I’m happy to pour away money on frivolous things just for the moment of happiness it gives me. But it’s not the only way I treat myself – as self-care is very important. Here are all the ways I like to indulge…
Making a Luxury Purchase
Buying something expensive always makes me feel good (until I look at my bank statement). Whether that is a new handbag, a gorgeous pair of shoes or a new, expensive fragrance (like the Addictive Arts perfume
from Clive Christian), buying something new that’s got a hefty price tag always makes me feel like I’m really indulging. My most recent luxury purchase was some make-up from Hourglass
which set my bank account back a little bit but the joy that I get from using that luxurious palette and looking at it on my dresser is priceless.
Eating Something Naughty
Brownies are my ultimate indulgence food and whipping up a batch is such a good way to treat myself. These ones from the BBC Good Food website
make the ultimate treat when I’m feeling a bit down. I really love making brownies and they are a real treat for me too as I hardly make them because Johnny isn’t very keen on them (yes, he’s a sadist) so when I do make them it really is the ultimate indulgence. The most common baking I do is banana bread, as that is Johnny’s favourite and so I make it far more often. It’s very yummy but it’s not as indulgent as rich, chocolaty brownies in my opinion.
Having a Pamper Night
As much as I’d love to have a spa day, my bank account unfortunately cannot stretch to that. So, I have to make my own pamper nights at home. I usually use a face mask
, get out a foot spa
, light some candles
and pop on some relaxing music and just relax, forgetting all my stresses and worries of the day. I wish that I could have a bath but sadly our flat does not have one so a shower, hair wash and intense facial cleanse have to do. I love indulging myself in this way because it’s completely free and you can do it at your favourite place – home!
Blogging is a huge way that I treat myself. There’s nothing more I love than devoting a day to taking photos, writing content and joining Twitter chats. I love settling down in bed with my laptop
with some vlogs on in the background and just writing. With how busy my life is (juggling a part-time job, a full-time degree and a social life isn’t easy!) I don’t ever get days that I can just dedicate to blogging so when I finally clear my calendar and take a day off just to blog it’s a real treat for me as blogging is my ultimate passion and there’s nothing I enjoy more!
