Getting a Lush Night’s Sleep

If you follow me on social media – namely, Instagram – you may know that recently I’ve been having some trouble sleeping. I never used to but for the past few weeks I’ve been lying awake, tossing and turning before eventually falling asleep. I’m all for natural remedies so when I saw that Lush had a range of products aimed to help you sleep, I knew I had to test them out…

Sleepy Body Lotion || £7.95
I tweeted out asking for recommendations for products to help you sleep and this was the number one recommended product: the Sleepy body lotion. Lush do this in two sizes with prices starting from £7.95. On their website they state that you’ll sleep well after dipping into this dreamy lotion, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comfortingly sweet tonka absolute and all the reviews of this body lotion are overwhelmingly positive – stating that it really helped them get the good night’s sleep that they were hankering for. I found that it is definitely extremely relaxing and the nights I use this on myself are the nights that I fall asleep a lot faster. I’m not sure if it’s a placebo effect but it’s worked wonders for me!
Another thing about this body lotion is how richly moisturising it is. One of the ingredients is cocoa butter which is a very famous ingredient for really rich and luxurious body creams. It sinks into the skin extremely fast and makes your arms, legs, wherever you put it feel incredibly soft and supple – like a baby’s bottom. It’s scent is subtle so that it’s not over powering but you can still smell it on you throughout the day – even after your morning shower! I love this body lotion and will 100% be buying one when this one runs out – I may even go for the larger tub!
Twilight is one of Lush’s most famous scents. It started as a humble bath bomb but now manifests itself in shower gel, naked shower gel, body spray (more on this later) and even a Twilight gift set! The main scent of this bomb is lavender which you’d expect from a bath bomb that Lush claim aids restful sleep. I definitely find lavender super relaxing and this is why Twilight is one of my favourite bath bombs from Lush. It’s a slow fizzer which is super relaxing as it takes about 5 minutes to fully dissolve. Then, you’re left with a nourishing, purple, lavender-scented bath to relaxing – prepping you for a really decent night’s kip. Lush say that this bath bomb uses techniques used in aroma therapy to cure insomnia!
Lush nailed a luxurious, relaxing bath with this bath bomb. Every time I use it my skin feels so soft and nourished afterwards and again, maybe it’s placebo but I always seem to have the most soothing night’s sleep after using it. It doesn’t have a bad review – that I can see! – on the Lush website and it’s no surprise to me that this little purple gem is a real crowd pleaser. It’s impressed me for years and I hope that it can help to get my sleeping routine back on track!

I much prefer bubble bars to bath bombs as I prefer a bubbly bath. I also think that bubble bars are better value for money than bath bombs as you can use them more than once, which is a real bonus. The French Kiss bubble bar is another deliciously scented lavender product aimed to aid you in getting the perfect night’s sleep. It’s very aesthetically pleasing to the eye: marbled purple and white with a little spring of lavender poking out of the top (although mine broke off in the post!). When you crumble this under the running water, magic truly does happen! Mounds and mounds of silky, lavender and rosemary scented bubbles fill your bath, allowing you to sink into the most relaxing, nourishing pile of bubbles.
This has the most glorious scent of lavender (as you might expect) and it’s definitely not suffocating in the slightest. Relaxing in a bubble bath like this with a cup of chamomile tea is perfect if you’re struggling with your sleep like I am at the moment. I find that chamomile is a really common ingredient in a lot of Lush products – I believe they include it in a lot of their face masks – and that also aids sleep. Putting on a Lush face mask, drinking a chamomile tea while sat in a bath filled to the brim with lavender bubbles will be sure to have you drifting off in no time!

I used to be so up-to-date on Lush launches but I think this one must have passed me by. It’s the Twilight body spray. This stuff is pricy but my god, is it worth it. It says body spray and I do like to spray this on my body before sleep but it also works for me as a pillow spray. There is something incredibly relaxing about falling asleep sniffing the sweet scents of the Twilight spray. Out of all the products this is the one I use every night without fail and the one I believe makes all the difference in the world. It’s in a really cool, quirky spray bottle and is full of lavender, ylang ylang and tonka which are all relaxants and all give a beautiful, floral fragrance.
This product lives by my bed now and I spray my pillow with it every single night before I go to sleep (and even my pyjamas if I’m feeling extra!). It honestly works wonders so if you’re feeling like you need help getting off to sleep at night then this bad boy is the one for you. I will 100% be purchasing this body spray when I run out of this bottle because it has become a staple in my night-time regime and I never would have picked it myself.
So, there we have it. That is my little haul of sleep-inducing goodies from Lush. Have you guys tried any products recently that have helped you escape to the land of nod? If so, let me know in the comment section!
*These products were kindly sent to me by the people at Lush but all thoughts & opinions are my own.*

    I've been terrible at sleeping for the last six months so these would be amazing if I wasn't allergic to lavender haha. I have been using a REN pillow spray which still has lavender in but it isn't the main ingredient or really obvious like most sleep based stuff, which I seem to be okay with and I've been finding really helps me. xx

    I’ve never tried out Lush’s range of sleep inducing products but now I really want to! It’s interesting to hear that a lot of their products contain chamomile because I love a good cup of chamomile tea before I head to bed, it really helps relax me and gets me feeling sleepy! The pillow spray you’ve mentioned here is something I’d especially like to sample!

    Struggling to get to sleep can be such a pain but it sounds like you've got some fabulous products here to help you on your way! When I struggle to sleep, I like taking a long bath with some Lush products of course, and I also like to do a longer skincare at night to relax myself even more!
