January is almost over and so I’m sharing some of my favourite beauty finds for this month, including Crown Brushes! These are all products I’d not tried before this month but I am so glad I’ve discovered them!
I had three brushes from Crown Brushes before this month but I bought them about 4 years ago at BeautyCon and, despite using them every day, it’s a brand I’d never gone back to. They now do full palettes with 35+ shades, beautiful brush sets and liquid lipsticks which are some things that I’ve sampled from them this month. They sent across the Rose Gold Eye Shadow Palette, their Pro Essential Brush Set and two of their liquid lipsticks in the shades Caliente and Sangria.
Immediately, I was blown away by the quality of the brushes. They’re so soft, make blending a dream and are a far cry from the old Crown Brushes I do have as over time they’ve kind of gotten misshapen, scratchy and… well, old basically. These are such good quality for being pretty affordable. In this set you get 16 make up brushes and a faux leather roll for them which is really handy for travel. Overall, I’m really impressed with the selection of brushes you get in this set and the value for money. Sometimes with brushes that are on the cheaper side, they can be a bit scratchy and of poor quality but these rival my Real Techniques and Zoeva brushes which is fantastic. I think they have definitely changed their brushes since I last tried them as I was far more impressed with these. They look sleek with black handles are silver trimming. The kit is very diverse and has all the brushes you’d need to create full look.
We all know I like my shadows how I like my men; expensive and… pigmented? Basically, my point is that I really like high end eye shadows, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to eye shadows and it’s nothing I’m proud of. But it does mean that when cheaper eye shadows blow me away then I’m, like, a thousand times more impressed. You get 35 shadows in this palette and it’s £22, meaning each shadow is £1.50 each. And holy hell, are these good. They’re pigmented and buttery. The shimmers are stunning, especially when wet. I am seriously impressed with these shadows and will be using them everyday. I can already tell. You get such an amazing mix of shades; the palette is perfect for everyday looks in there but also some really bright shades for more “out there” looks. There’s a fantastic variety of transition shades, popping lid colours and crease colours – all within the theme of rose gold!
The liquid lipsticks are also really lovely: they apply evenly, are pretty long-wearing and the shades are beautiful. Sangria is a cooler-toned purple and Caliente is a true red. I do love liquid lipsticks and at £9.99 each these are really affordable so definitely worth trying out. They’re very pigmented meaning that you only need one swipe to achieve opaque colour. They’re quite long-lasting although I did wear these on a Mexican night (with oily fajitas and many a margarita) and by the end of the night it had smudged a little around my lips but I’m yet to find a liquid lip that doesn’t do that! The swatches are above and they’re just the perfect shades. I will definitely be trying some more of these!
