If you think your mum is worth more than flowers this Mother’s Day, why not give the gift of fragrance?
I always struggle to know what to get my mum for Mother’s Day. My mum completely and utterly deserves the world and the fact that, right now, I can’t afford to give her the entire world is really heartbreaking. However, Fragrance Direct can make giving the gift of fragrance a little easier on the old purse strings. They offer a huge range of discounted, designer perfumes so you can make your mum feel like a million bucks on Mother’s Day. And, let’s be honest, my mum really does deserve to feel like a million bucks because she really, really is.
I make it pretty clear to you guys that I am not rich. I’m a student. I have an over-draft. I live in London where rent is extortionate. Splashing out on fragrance is normally something I can’t afford – and something my mum definitely wouldn’t expect. So, how can I afford to treat my mum to the present she deserves? Enter Fragrance Direct. You know how much I bloody love this website: discounts on all your favourite fragrances and beauty items. It’s literally a student’s dream. A bunch of flowers would probably be about £30 – well, Marc Jacob’s Decadence on Fragrance Direct is only £41.95. That’s only £11 more and it will last her a lot longer – flowers die so quickly – and will be a gift she truly remembers.
Now, Decadence is a fragrance I’ve had my eye on for my mum for a long time. It’s classy, refined and the scent is just delicious. It’s classy – so perfect for an ‘older’ lady (she’s only 50, guys!). Fragrance Direct describe the scent as “succulent Italian plum, golden saffron and velvety iris, with rich Bulgarian rose that mingles with lush orris and creamy nuances of jasmine sambac”. I love this scent for myself and when it arrived, I was extremely tempted to steal if for myself but I thought “No, you know what. Mum deserves it way more.” My mum lives with 4 males, 2 of which are moody teenagers, and sometimes she feels so drained and needs to be reminded that she’s not just a pack mule/cleaning machine/dinner lady and that she deserves a bit of luxury which is why I picked out this fragrance for her. It’s so, well, decadent. The bottle is designed like one of Marc’s iconic handbags, meaning even the bottle oozes class. Perfect for a run-down mama as a Mother’s Day ideas.
Since moving out of home, it’s hard for me to treat my mum as much. Because we live 100 miles away from each other, I can’t do the little things I used to in order to treat her like doing the dishes, hoovering the living room or such like. Therefore, when an occasion swings around to give my mum the treat she deserves, I like to go all out. She works so hard to create a loving, welcoming home and does all of this on top of her full-time job. My mum is honestly my best friend and my inspiration and that’s why, this Mother’s Day, she’s getting fragrance and not flowers. Giving flowers for Mother’s Day is so generic and generic is something my mum is not. I can’t wait until I’m super-mega-rich (lol) and can buy her trips to Paris and New York for Mother’s Day but for now, I think she’ll be over the moon with Decadence.
